Renters Pet Insurance

Renters pet insurance might be a good idea if you're worried that your dog might do some damage to your apartment. While this type of insurance can be hard to find more and more companies are starting to offer it.

One company 24PetWatch actually has a program called TenantCare, were they not only cover you if your dog does damage to the property, but also includes medical coverage for your dog.

The coverage amount usually only goes up to $500-$700, so you have to decide if paying a monthly premium of around $20 is worth it for this type of coverage.

The plan mentioned above costs $18.95, and provides up to $700 worth of protection in case your dog damages any property. It also includes medical coverage as well.

The coverage limits for the medical part of the policy only go up to $1000 which is a little bit lower than other policies and the deductible is $75.

So if you can afford to save up $500 in savings in case your pet damages something you might be better off skipping this policy.

If you do want dog medical insurance it is better in my view to get a different plan that gives you more coverage for about the same premium.

Renters Insurance

If you think that you are covered by your homeowners policy or renters insurance you are likely not but it's always good to ask your company if they do offer coverage for pet damage. Most will likely not but it's worth asking.
