Purina Pet Insurance is provided by one of the leading manufacturers of pet foods in America. But their entry into the pet insurance field is fairly new and unlike most companies that all offer multiple plans this company offers only two plans.

Purina Care Without Preventive Coverage

This is their basic plan and might be right for you if you simply just want to ensure your pet against the unexpected. It covers illness, injuries, accidents, hospitalization, hereditary conditions, diagnostics, and medications.

Purina Care Plus Preventative Care

This covers everything their basic plan covers but it also includes vaccinations, examinations, dental cleanings, spays and neuters, heartworm protection, and flea protection.

Discounts

If you insure two pets you get a 5% discount, and if you insure three or more you receive a 10% discount.

Deductible

The deductible for this plan is customizable, so the higher the deductible you choose, the lower your insurance premium will be.

What’s Excluded

These policies exclude several things, some of which are: pre-existing conditions, pregnancies, alternative care unless prescribed, training, pet food, and supplements, and boarding. These exclusions are the norm among pet policy providers.
