Pet business insurance is necessary to have if you run a business. Even if you have a very small business, like grooming a few dogs, or just doing some dog sitting, you should look into getting a policy to protect yourself.

Odds are you will not have any accidents or occurrences at your business where you will need insurance, but you do need a policy to cover yourself just in case.

You put a lot of work into building your business, and now you have to protect it so you do not lose in case of a careless accident on someone else's fault.

Just because you have pets involved in your business is not mean they have to expose yourself to greater risks.

You should do a risk management assessment and find out where you can minimize your liability exposure.

For example not letting owners handle their dogs while you are working with them is of one good way to limit the liability.

Another great way to limit your liabilities is to always have all pets in cages. And don't allow them to roam free or to only be on leashes. Leashes can allow dogs a chance to escape an attack another dog or run away completely.
