Medivet America Pet Stem Cell Kitby Dr. Chris
January 1, 2011 The Medivet America Pet Stem Cell Kit is the first in-house system of its kind available for veterinarians. Before the release of this kit, stem cells collected from pets had to be sent out to another lab, processed, and then sent back to the veterinary clinic for injection. This Medivet America Pet Stem Cell Kit allows the veterinarian to process the collected stem cells in house. This is possible because Medivet created an L.E.D technology that activates the stem cells. This kit uses adipose stem cells (fat cells). The fat cells are collected from the dog, cat, or horse (or other pet) activated with a special L.E.D light and then injected back into the injured joint, or other organ. The stem cells are collected from the animal under general anesthesia. So the pet will be anesthetized, but the procedure itself is not that painful. The re-injection of the activated pet stem cells is also usually done under anesthesia as well. The advantages of this new kit include:>Same day out patient procedure>Cost effective >Greater stem cell yield >Less tissue trauma What Are Pet Stem Cells?Pet stem cells are like the corner stone of a building. All the support for the building comes from that stone. All the different cells of the body, come from a stem cell. A stem cell can differentiate into many different kinds of cells, that is the advantage. It can replace damaged cells. Is Stem Cell Therapy Right for my Dog?Pet stem cell therapy is being used to treat more and more health problems in pets every year.
