Liability Insurance

If you have an actual building where people come and you keep rescued dogs there, then you should probably have some type of liability insurance. If you are formed as a nonprofit group then you might not need pet business insurance.

If you're running a dog rescue out of your home then your homeowners insurance policy may cover you for some liability purposes.

However, many homeowner insurance policies now do not cover dog related injuries. So if a dog bites someone visiting your home your liability insurance might not cover you. The only way to find this out is to actually call your insurance company or read your insurance policy to see if it talks about pet liability insurance

Pet Health Insurance

If you are trying to get dog rescue insurance for individual dogs that you rescue then this can be done. And often if you buy a large number of pet insurance policies at the same time you can qualify for a discount pet insurance policy of up to 10% or more.

However it might be difficult to buy policies for dogs that you are only rescuing for a temporary amount of time and then adopting out. This is because most insurance companies will likely not allow a short term policy.
