Dog Walking InsuranceQuestion:Do I need dog walking insurance? I have a few regular clients that I walk their dogs. This is not a full time job for me only a part-time job. I do receive income for this but it is not very significant. Should I still consider getting a policy?Answer:Since this is a personal financial decision I cannot answer specifically for you, but if I were you I would consider getting a policy. Most dog walker insurance policies cost between $100 and $600 a year. You might be able to find cheaper policies out there if you look around, since spending all your income on buying an insurance policy does not make much sense. There a couple insurance providers you can get dog walker insurance from. PSA Insurance, Business Insurers of the Carolinas, and Mourer-Foster Inc. all offer policies. These are just a few that I know of, you may be able to find more of them on your own. Remember even though it seems like something wonÕt go wrong, dogs do get loose, they can bite people, or do other property damage. Remember even if it is not your dog, and you are walking it, you are still responsible for the dog during that time. So if it decides to bite someone or attack someone, youÕll likely be liable. If I were you, I would at least call a couple of companies and get some quotes and see if the price is reasonable for you. Remember you have to be at least 18 years old to buy a policy.
