Boxer Dogs Affected Most by Pet Heart Disease

February 13, 2011 Last week, Trupanion pet insurance company revealed a list of the cat and dog breeds that are affected most by pet heart disease. If you were not aware, heart problems don't just affect people they affect pets as well. The top two breeds on the list are very well known breeds for having heart conditions. The other ones on the list are quite surprising! 1. Boxer dog2. Doberman Pinscher3. Domestic Medium Hair Cat 4. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel5. Domestic Long Hair Cat The term pet heart disease encompasses a lot of specific pet ailments like Boxer cardiomyopathy, endocarditis, heart valve problems, congenital problems, etc. Pet heart disease symptoms can vary tremendously. But in general you should watch out for difficulty breathing, coughing, fluid retention, exercise intolerance, and lethargy. As always, it is best to prevent pet heart disease by taking your pet to the veterinary clinic on a regular basis.
